Getting Here

The nearest major airport to Eielson Air Force Base is Fairbanks International Airport which is located about 25 miles from the base. There are no shuttles or buses to the base, but rental car facilities are available. Please note that rental car charges will not be reimbursed upon arrival at Eglin Air Force Base. There are taxi services in Fairbanks, and an arriving airman may be able arrange a ride with a sponsor.

If arriving by car, proceed down Airport Way to the Richardson Highway and keep right. Eielson Air Force Base is about 25 miles down the road on the left. If military personnel need temporary lodging, call the Goldrush Inn in Building 540. The inn is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
