The Gold Rush Inn  is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, and is the 24-hour check-in point for arriving airmen. Most rooms are located near the commissary and Base Exchange. There are a small number of rooms available for families with pets. Shot records must be on hand. Reservations are strongly recommended! Summer season has a large number of PCSing airmen and soldiers, and transient military on exercise; winter has less traffic, but this is the middle of Alaska, and not having reservations is risky.

Additional temporary lodging facilities are available nearby in local Fairbanks hotels, and they may have military specials - call and ask. These may be authorized to supplement lodging if there is no room at the Gold Rush Inn - a Non-Availability slip is required for full reimbursement.
